A brief history....
Having left school at 15 I started my signwriting apprenticeship straight away and worked for two well established local firms. Having completed 5 good years of training, at the end of 1984 I decided it was time to ''go it alone'' and Signseen was formed. At first we mainly carried out work for local businesses and subcontracted our signwriting services into other sign firms. One of those being owned and operated by the late John Clark, who's Youngs Brewery contract allowed us to gain a wealth of experience signwriting all the pubs in and around london.
By the end of the 80's traditional signwriting was already starting to take a back seat and computer cut vinyl lettering had arrived. We invested, what was for us, a huge sum at the time in our first computerised system in 1989 and have never looked back. We do, however, still manage to keep in touch with our roots though by regularly carrying out signwriting and gilding services for the Houses of Parliament. In addition to the computer cut lettering we now have both large format print and routing facilities in-house and have recently acquired our first new generation UV flat bed printer.
Four members of my team have been with me for over 15 years with another four coming up 10 years, without them we wouldn't have achieved what we have and I would like to thank them all personally for that. Who knows what the future holds for signmaking, but one thing is for sure, we will be right there with it and would like to welcome you along for the ride!
